The N R A H
The (British) National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists (NRAH) is a nationwide register of advanced professional hypnotherapists and trainers. The NRAH is comprised of individual practitioners and is open to any Hypnotherapist who has been in practice full time for a minimum of 2 years. All members of the register are professional therapists who have shown an advanced working knowledge of hypnosis, and a commitment to ongoing personal development (CPD). Working in all aspects of hypnotherapy and are covered by professional indemnity insurance.
GHR
The GHR
Originally established following Department Of Health guidelines that each separate Complementary & Alternative medical profession should have a single, central Register of Practitioners, we are now actively participating within the Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation whose constituent members represent some 80% of the profession. The Group’s primary purpose is to facilitate agreed standards within the profession and subsequently bring about voluntary self-regulation (VSR) –an officially recognised status – for the entire industry.
The GHR itself is comprised of individual practitioners and is open to any Hypnotherapist who is able to satisfy the criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the GHSC.
THE GHSC
The GHSC acts as a link between the hypnotherapy industry and the Department of Health (DH) who has actively encouraged the Council to continue its work towards promoting to status of Voluntary Self-regulations (VSR) for the hypnotherapy profession.
It is primarily responsible for overseeing the criteria for the ongoing registration of individual practitioners within The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and setting the criteria for the validation of Practitioner Level Training Courses.
NLP
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP explores the relationship between how we think (neuro), how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programmes). It is both an epistemology, in that it studies how we know what we know and a methodology for creating practical descriptions of how we function as human beings. The purpose of NLP is often stated as being to study, describe and transfer models of human excellence (Modelling).
As NLP offers a window (through modelling) into the way in which we function (i.e. our neuro-linguistic programmes), it provides a technology for creating change. If you want to have more choices about your behaviour and emotions, to enhance your communication and relationships, and develop new abilities in your thinking, then it si claimed that NLP can provide you with the tools for accomplishing this.
UKRAH
UKRAH United Kingdom Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists was formed in 1998 by Valerie Austin well known hypnotherapist, and author of several books on hypnotherapy. To help Austin trained therapists to gain continuing professional development to keep their skills up to date.
